Accessibility
Keystair aims to be usable by as many people as possible. Here’s the current status.
What works
- You can access all buttons and settings using the Tab key. Pressing Enter or tapping the sustain pedal activates the main button on each screen.
- Labels for screen readers are provided for buttons and controls.
- The motion setting matches your computer’s reduced-motion mode, and you can reduce it further in Settings, Display.
- In Settings, Display, you can enlarge the sheet music and keys.
- A dark theme is available alongside the light one.
- If you don’t have a piano, you can play using the computer keys.
What doesn’t work well yet
Sheet music is shown like a drawing, which means screen readers can’t interpret the notes. The lessons rely on seeing the keyboard as you listen to the music.
We’re aiming for the WCAG 2.2 AA guidelines.
