Music

Every piece in Keystair is in the public domain. That covers the folk songs as well as the music by Bach, Beethoven, Dvořák, Schumann, Joplin and other composers, while the simplified arrangements are Keystair’s own.

We checked the notes against editions from the Mutopia Project, IMSLP and the CCARH Humdrum library. Published folk-song collections were used as a check too.

Sound

The piano sound and the click are made in your browser while you play, so no recordings are used at all.

Software

• VexFlow draws the sheet music (MIT License).
• React runs the app (MIT License).
• Motion makes things move (MIT License).
• Lucide provides the icons (ISC License).
• Supabase’s libraries handle accounts and saving (MIT License).
• web-push sends reminders (Mozilla Public License 2.0).

Keystair runs on Netlify. Supabase keeps the accounts and progress.
